The Class of 1969: Inside the Sockanosset School for Boys

Get a first-hand look at Rhode Island’s notorious Sockanosset School for Boys at a talk by Ronald Bernier.

Like many kids his age, Ron was threatened with a stay at the “Bad Boys School” when he misbehaved, but unlike most of his peers, he actually ended up there.

Learn about the violence, racial unrest, and loneliness at Sockanosset, and hear the story of a troubled teen who turned his life around, became a social worker, and helped other young men and women find their way out of Rhode Island’s terrifying, brutal, and cold-hearted “rehabilitation” system.

Raised in West Greenwich and Riverside, Ronald Bernier lives in Warwick and is the author of the autobiography The Class of 1969.

This event is free and open to all. Drop in for an exceptional night.
