Wally Wood: The World's Second Best Comic Book Artist

Comic book artist Wally Wood lived a charmed and tragic life. Join journalist and comic book fan Steve Starger for a three-part series on Wally Wood: The World's Second Best Comic Book Artist.

Wally Wood is one of comics’ most influential writers, artists, and publishers. Finding fame as an artist for EC Comics’ sci-fi, war, and horror comics, he was a founding artist on MAD, worked for Marvel and DC, and published the first underground comic witzend.

He was also an alcoholic with profound health problems and a gun collector who used his collection to end his life. Discover the highs and lows of a great artist and a troubled man.

Steve Starger and J. David Spurlock are co-authors of the 2005 biography Wally's World: The Brilliant Life and Tragic Death of Wally Wood, the World's Second-Best Comic Book Artist.

Wally Wood: The World's Second Best Comic Book Artist runs on Tuesdays, February 14, 21 & 28 at 7 p.m.

This event is free and open to all. Drop in for a fun time.
