The Noel Letters by Richard Paul Evans follows the story of Noel Post, who leaves her job as editor at a major New York publishing house to say goodbye to her estranged father. Although she is too late, her father will speak to her in many ways throughout the story. While she is in Utah, dealing with her father’s estate, Noel loses her job and apartment, but inherits her father’s bookstore. A series of mysterious letters cause Noel to look at her life and realize she may not really understand what happened between her parents while she was a child. The story is one of self-discovery, in which Noel realizes her New York life may not have been the one she was meant to lead, as a twist of fate leads her to happiness and love, and an appreciation of the important things in her life
