Hereditary

Hereditary is a R-rated horror film that targets where many people feel the most safe-- with family. The film was directed by master of disturbing horror, Ari Aster, and produced by A24. The atmosphere of the film in of itself creates unease, and along with its story has no need to rely on jumpscares to produce terror in it’s audience. The soundtrack, by Colin Stetson, is hauntingly beautiful as it perfectly fits the story of Hereditary while being masterfully composed and performed on its own. The film, like Ari Aster’s other films, creates its horror with tragedy making a story that is emotionally relatable while horrifying and uncanny.
