King's Avatar - Light novel/ chinese anime(donghua)/ chinese manga The king’s avatar is a novel written by Butterfly Blue (蝴蝶蓝). The main character Ye Xiu is a former esports pro who is forced to retire because of his organization. His account that he played on for ten years OneAutumnLeaf is property of the organization and is taken from him. He leaves the organization and goes across the street to find his new job as a night manager for a pc cafe. It is there where he makes a new account for the game that everyone is into these days, called Glory. Known as the mysterious god of Glory who never revealed his face, he once again starts his climb all the way to the top trying to compete for the number one spot again from nothing. After all, he doesn’t have any other skills besides gaming. The king’s avatar is a story that crosses over into the realm of esports. Any person that has a decent amount of knowledge of esports or is an average gamer themselves with a competitive edge can relate to this series. It is the story of how one must restart all over again after being on top of the world. The author incorporates realistic elements such as organizations, the importance of team synergy in a team game, play style and other factors to make the story seem as real as possible. It is essentially just witnessing an athlete forced to retire and forcing himself to come out of retirement to dominate the pro scene again. The story has a simple, realistic, relatable, plot that fans love to read and see. Furthermore, how relaxed the main character is and how he is always one step ahead of everyone is truly satisfying in my eyes. The story captures the audience's attention due to how rare a story involving esports is and deserves much more attention in my opinion.
