JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Steel Ball Run #78

The review of Chapter 78 of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure:Steel Ball Run. At the onset of this chapter, our villain, Funny Valentine discovers the true power of the reunited saint’s corpse. While Valentine is exploring the magnitude of his new ability, our protagonists Johnny and Gyro, continue to grapple with the task of stopping the train conductor of which they have been chasing. On their way to the locomotive, Johnny and Gyro have an encounter with Valentine’s new ability “love train” and are starting to unearth the true nature of this ability. In this chapter, I thoroughly enjoyed the introduction of Valentine’s new ability as well as seeing his megalomaniac tendencies. His new ability is incredibly strong and presents the reader with many questions on how Johnny and Gyro will combat this increasingly more powerful foe. The character development and story arc captivated my attention. My only concern with this chapter was the long rambling nature of Valentines soliloquy. I think this distracted from the intense action surrounding the scene. Overall, it's an excellent dive into Funny Valentine’s character and the exposition that leads to a proper setup for the final climactic battle of Steel Ball Run. I give chapter 78 of Steel Ball Run a 9/10 with good pacing and good story.
