This Is Where It Ends is a bestseller by Marieke Nijkamp that tells the story of a school shooting. We follow the event through multiple point of views, and get insight into their experiences with grief, sexuality, family, and mental health. Just from this, I believed it had a lot of potential. However, I was a little dissapointed after reading it. The characters were simply one dimensional and it felt like their was no thought behind the true motive of this horrific crime. The issues and traumas that were brought up were devoid of any emotion. The author tried to write a story bigger than their ability and incorporated too much.
