Based on Shakespeare’s “The Taming of the Shrew,” director Gil Junger’s “10 Things I Hate About You” is one of the best romantic comedies you will ever watch. The 1999 teen classic follows the lives of the two “untouchable” Stratford sisters, Kat and Bianca. Considered untouchable for different reasons, Kat is a rough-edged senior who does not let anyone tell her no, while Bianca is the golden girl sophomore who is not allowed to date until her older sister does. Trying to be with Bianca, Cameron schemes to set the independent Kat up with a guy that suits her style. While watching this movie, it seemed that one moment I was laughing while the next moment I was saying “aw.” This movie is one of my favorite comfort movies that never fails to cheer me up. I would recommend this movie to anyone who loves 90’s-2000’s rom-coms, especially centered around high-schoolers.
