Ugly Love

The book Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover is a 10/10 recommended book. It jumps back and forth from years ago to the present day and really acknowledges the fact that so much can change within the span of 6 years. Each chapter focuses on the past and the present. The past explains the story of the main character Miles, first relationship with a girl named Rachel, and how tricky it was knowing him and his new girlfriend were both leaving for college across the country from each other within only a few months after meeting. The plot twist in this story is that he had a crush on Rachel but then their parents started dating so technically they are ‘step siblings’ so they have to keep their relationship a secret. The present is where Miles is at right now. He has not moved on from his past relationship and hasn't met anyone after Rachel. This all changed when he met a girl named Tate who is his best friends sister. They meet because she moves into her brother apartment which is across the hall from Miles apartment. They both hide their relationship from her brother which is kind of hard seeing as Miles and her brother work together and are best friends but they do this because they don't know how he will react to either one of them.
