Jack London is a really great story teller, especially when the story is seen from the view of an animal. White Fang describes the world, the people, and the events in a way that a human might not see. However, they mostly rely on his instincts to survive in the very harsh world we live in. Upon first leaving his den, he quickly learns things like water is not solid, the ground is not always level, and it is easier to fight and kill smaller things vs. bigger things. These life lessons continue throughout the novel and allow him to develop the skills to survive. This it makes it really fun to see the growth of White Fang as you read.
