All Star Superman by Grant Morrison

All Star Superman was a 12 issues series from 2005 that was collected into a graphic novel. Written by Grant Morris and illustrated by Frank Quitely, it was received very well by fans and critics alike. To this day, it is considered by many to be one of, if not the best superman story of all time. I enjoyed it very much. Before reading this, my interest in superman was very low. I preferred darker heroes like Batman or daredevil, and pictured Superman stories to be very simple and not that interesting. Fortunately, All Star Superman proved me wrong. This was one of the most emotional superhero stories I have experienced. After reading it, I am compelled to read more superman stories and see how they compare. I rate this story a 10/10. It brings classic superhero elements from the 80’s and 90’s into the fray, but modernizes them in an amazing way. I think it is probably the best starting point for someone who wants to read comic books. I think even if you aren’t into superheroes that you will like this story, just because of the emotional factors that are included in this story.
