Have you ever wondered what would have happened if the U.S. Constitution marked the beginning of an American monarchy? In Katharine McGee’s American Royals, you are taken through the lives of four young women, all connected to the throne. Whether they are dealing with the pressure of the crown or being in love with the prince, each girl struggles with deciding to be wrapped up in the monarchy or choosing their independence and freedom. As the story brings you into the four various points of view of Samantha, Nina, Beatrice, and Daphne, you never want to put the book down. McGee makes you feel the rush of stolen glances of your illicit lover and the enormous weight of being a royal. I truly enjoyed this book, and I recommend it to anyone interested in stories about royalty, young love, and growing up.
