Coraline

"Coraline," a stop-motion horror movie for kids, is about a little girl who finds a secret door that leads her to a magical world that is a replica of her own home. There, she meets her other mother and father who have buttons for eyes. The scenery in this movie is astounding. From the grey tone of the real world that describes Coraline's unhappy lifestyle, to the halloween and beautiful alternate world that describes Coraline's dreams of having a better life. This movie is terrifying yet mesmerizing. The character designs from the alternate world are very unsettling, which connects to the dark theme of the movie. It's also very suspenseful, as we follow Coraline's journey in finding clues of the mysterious magical world and her other mother.
