When a little fun ends up going south, four friends plunge into their city’s greatest fear, the Darkdeep. The Darkdeep is written by Ally Condie and Brendan Reichs. This story focuses on how a group of friends discovered the great mysteries of the great unknown. There have always been rumors of monsters and boats going missing in this area, but nobody knows for sure. But this group of friends unlock the secret, and what happens next can only be described as . . . interesting. At the beginning, it seems like everything is going great, until things get worse. This is when the fright kicks in, and now the kids are on a mission. This story is told through two alternating perspectives, and while this is a horror story, it is not similar to a super-scary-scream-out-of-my-mind type of movie or book. It adds enjoyable moments that create suspense and laughter (at occasional moments) as well. So for those who might be a little intimidated by a frightening book, this book will still be interesting for you. And for those that enjoy that a scary read, well, let’s just say that this novel carries that as well. Personally, I’m in between the two people I just described, so this book was very enjoyable for me to read and kept me glued to the paper at all times. Thus, if you are still searching for a good read, look no further and discover The Darkdeep by Ally Condie and Brendan Reichs.
