Divergent by Veronica Roth is a dystopian book where America has been split up into four factions, dauntless, who have no fear, abnegation, who are very selfless, candor, who never lie, amity, peaceful, and erudite, intelligent. Tris (the main character) is born and raised in abnegation. But she doesn’t feel like she belongs. She wants to be different. She feels dauntless. So when it comes time for the aptitude test, she is divergent, meaning her results could put her in 2 or more factions. She doesn’t know which one to choose, but she chooses dauntless in the end.
