The setting is in a little town called Cliffs Donnelly in Ohio. It happened during a few months. The main characters are Lizzy, Ernest, and Ryan. They are all 11 and in 6th grade. Lizzy is very self-conscious about how she looks and feels like she isn’t good enough. She has blond hair and is kind of tall. Ernest has got parents who are rich and doesn’t have many friends. He’s hyper and curious. He has short brown hair and glasses. Ryan likes to help people out and has a little brother so he always has to be responsible for him. He has short brown hair, too, and is kind of tall, as well. The conflict is everyone has given up hope. This book is about a town that has given up hope. A class of kids hear about a magical well. Friends Ernest and Ryan go to a path and finds a bush that leads to the bottom of the well and hear a wish. They helped that person get their wish and decided that they were going to make peoples wish come true and give them hope again. Lizzy joins in and starts helping too. Little by little, with teamwork and unlikely friendships, they can save the town and bring hope back again. The point of view is 3rd person limited omniscient. Each chapter switches between a different characters point of view. The genre is action/adventure with little bit of mystery. I rate this book a 5 out of 5 stars because I thought it was very interesting. There were many twists and surprises. I also like the theme of teamwork and friendships. I think if you enjoy action/adventure books and a little bit of mystery you would like this book.
