When thirteen year old Brian Robeson is flying across the Canadian wilderness to see his father, the plane in which he was traveling in crashes in the heart of the wilderness. Brian manages to use what he has, his windbreaker and a hatchet his mother gave him as a gift, to survive a tough couple of months. By the time I had read this book, TONS of people had recommended it to me, now I see why. Personally, I like a good action filled book to keep me excited. This book delivered! Between the constant hardship and Brian’s mental status throughout the book, there were so many instances where the author has you thinking, “How does he do that!” Or, “I could never survive in these conditions!” This book takes a rarely unrealistic scenario and makes it real. This novel could easily provide some knowledge on survival skills too. I 100% would recommend this book to anybody.
