From foster home to foster home, from strangers to family, and back again, she mourns her mother. And there isn't a guide on how to cope with her loss. How to Make Friends with the Dark will take you on a crazy ride from Tiger having a normal school day with the hopes of kissing your crush to her worst moment for anyone to go through. From there Tiger gets whisked away and pushed into the foster system, placed in the charge of a harsh caregiver who locks their food to a lovable hippy who is really doing the best they can, and finally placed under the care of a long-lost sister barely older than her. This is a Beautiful book - it's a book about grief and love and trying to keep yourself together when everything about your world is falling apart. I think this is such an important book to so many people.
