Lady Bird

Ladybird is an excellent coming of age movie. The movie circles around the life of a teenage girl, Christine, or Ladybird. She attends a wealthy catholic school and is surrounded by privilege. Unfortunately according to Ladybird, she has grown up on the “wrong side of the tracks.” This has come with its own set of challenges, such as never fully adapting to the ways of her privileged peers. To top things off, Ladybird’s father has lost his job, making their tight situation even tighter. Ladybird deals with her struggles at home while also eager to get the “highschool” experience and move on to a fancy college. Throughout Ladybird, viewers will watch her experience love and excitement, but also guilt and grief. Ladybird truly discovers herself in a way we all hope to do.
