The Lord of the Flies by William Golding was a book that had me off the edge of my seat. It's a book about a group of kids who are stranded on an island without their parents or any adults. I have always wondered what would happen to kids if there were no adults around to manage them and the book gave me exactly that. It's a book that will make you feel all kinds of emotions from warmth to anger and to fear. The plot was well written and the characters were well thought out. I liked some of the characters while I hated some of the characters. That goes to show how well Golding wrote the character to make me feel the way I felt. The book also goes into the minds of human children, how the children think and what actions they take without the guidance and influence of adults. Humans are interesting creatures and Golding uses the opportunity to share what he thinks through this book. If you are thinking about going into Psychology in the future, then I recommend this book to you. After I finished the book, I looked up information to see that The Lord of the Flies was actually based on a true story which surprised me. I did not know how to even tie my shoes when I was a kid so to think that this was based on a true story was a shock to me. Overall I really liked the book and it was something I looked forward to reading.
