The Kane Chronicles by Rick Riordan

The Kane Chronicles is a fantastic series written by Rick Riordan that is sure to be a great read for anyone. Like most of Rick Riordan’s work, this trilogy focuses on Egyptian mythology, teaching what gods Egyptians worshipped and continue to worship as well as how the deities influenced life today. These stories are told from the points of views of Carter and Sadie Kane, siblings that lived very different lives until they were brought together. Carter didn’t really have a place to call home. He would travel with his father through all types of places for his father’s archaeology work. Sadie grew up in Britain with her grandparents, and has developed British habits ever since she moved there from Los Angeles. After an odd experience where Carter and Sadie watched their father practically vanish before their eyes, they began to study Egyptian magic with their Uncle Amos. From there, things only get wilder as they travel on quests, doing things that they never thought they could and taking on the dangers of the Egyptian world. In these novels full of comedy and adventure, you will sure be on the edge of your seat nearly every second.
