This movie is definitely in my top ten movies, and there are so many things I like about it. The movie came out in 1989, and has a very nostalgic feeling to it. It stars Ethan Hawke, Robert Sean Leonard, and Robin Williams, who all give amazing performances in this movie. Robin Williams is very good at playing Mr. Keating, the quirky teacher that uses unorthodox methods to give the boys a space where they can be themselves in the midst of their stressful lives in the strict boarding school. They are all under immense pressure, some more than others, but Mr. Keating’s class allows them to escape that pressure of the outside world. I love the relationship between all of the boys in the dead poets society and the development that each boy goes through as they discover themselves. This movie is very coming of age as well as existentialist.
