Fever by Laurie Halse Anderson

I read the book Fever and enjoyed it. It’s written by the author Laurie Halse Anderson. She usually writes historical fiction, which is the genre this book is. Fever takes place during the year 1793. The main character is named Mattie, and she lives with her family above the coffee shop they own. Throughout the book, Mattie grows as a person. The yellow fever breaks out, and she must figure out how to survive under many circumstances. This book takes many twists and turns, and I would rate it 4.5 stars. I recommend this book to any middle school aged student interested in history, who wants a quicker read. Overall I would describe Fever as interesting, a bit sad, but very captivating.
