This book was one of my favorites I've read so far. It has a great sense of mystery, a great plot, and great characters all with believable motives as to why they are there, and a great payoff in the end which I did not expect. They give you enough details to where, once you know, doesn’t seem farfetched, but also isn’t obvious from the start. The island is an amazing setting, both trapping the characters and providing an interesting environment for the story to take place. As well as the island, the house that sits upon it makes a great place for a murder mystery novel. The winding halls and many rooms make it intriguing to see the characters investigate and explore. By the end, most of the major questions are answered, however, they leave you with just enough questions to keep you pondering for the rest of the day. This book also really knows how to make you hate a character, then provide a fitting payoff to them. All the despicable actions these people committed make you root for the murderer, but the investigations of the characters also make you want them to be caught. Overall, a great read. If you haven’t read it, I’d recommend it, and if you have, I’d also recommend watching the TV show adaptation that is available on youtube.
