Calling all Warwick home cooks, bakers, and food lovers!
In celebration of America’s 250th Anniversary, we are coming together to honor our shared history. We want to capture the unique culinary heritage of Warwick in a special commemorative Warwick Community Cookbook. Whether your recipe is a family classic passed down through generations or a modern favorite that represents the Warwick of today, we want to feature you in this historic work.
What we are looking for:
Your favorite recipes, including breads and breakfast, appetizers, soups and salads, entrees, sides, desserts and others. If you have a story behind the dish or recipe, such as a special memory, you may also submit a short story along with the recipe. Stories must be 500 words or less. We are also seeking photography and original artwork associated with your favorite recipes.
Guidelines for submissions:
- Recipes: Include all ingredients and measurements listed at the top, as well as step-by-step instructions. Please also note the approximate amount of cooking time from start to finish and how many servings it will make.
- Stories: If you choose to submit a story, it must explain the special memory or the recipe’s connection to your family or Warwick’s history.
- Photos and Art: High-resolution digital photos of the dish are welcome. Scans of the original recipe cards, and original artwork are also welcome.
- Credit: Submissions must include contact information of the contributor.
Submissions open April 15 and will end June 30th.
Please email submissions to reference@warwicklibrary.org or bring them to the Reference Desk.
