Wedges of Time: Colonial Shell Creations for All Ages

Shells

Come for Wedges of Time: Colonial Shell Creations to discover the art, stories, and seaside treasures of the 18th century in this lively, all-ages program on Wednesday, July 22 at 6 p.m.

Explore how seashells played a role in both ladies' education when young women learned decorative shellwork and Sailor's Valentines that were crafted as tokens of affection from across the sea.

Participants will handle real shells, uncover their surprising stories, and then create their own colonial-inspired shellwork keepsake to take home. With simple patterns for younger makers and more detailed options for older hands, everyone can craft something beautiful.

Space is limited. Sign up for Wedges of Time: Colonial Shell Creations for All Ages.

This event is free and open to all.
