Stand By Me

Stand by Me is a coming of age story that is crucial for everybody to watch at least once. The feeling that is left with the viewer is a feeling I have only ever experienced from this movie. The portrayal of childhood is so different from other coming of age movies, partly due to the raw performances (especially by River Phoenix). The plot follows four twelve year old boys on the hunt for a dead body, but the time spent looking for the body is a sad but enjoyable viewing experience. This is a personal favorite of mine and I highly recommend it.
