Tree Trimming and Removal

Library Garden

The library garden will be closed for tree trimming and removal on Friday, July 11.

The entrance to the library will be affected. Please look for staff members and signs to find out how to enter the building.

Why Are Trees Being Removed?

Some of our trees are dying, and to keep our garden healthy, they need to come down.

If you look at the trees next to the parking lot, you’ll see that the tops of three of them are dead and that they’re dying.

The trees along the brick path are also dying because they’re planted too close to each other and the roots are choking. Several others are dying because they’re planted too close to the building.

When we noticed these problems, we hired an arborist to assess our trees, and they recommended that eleven should be removed.

Once those trees are taken out, the remaining trees will continue to flourish and grow, and the library garden will remain the peaceful green space we all want and love.
