We Were Liars by E. Lockhart is my absolute favorite book. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a young adult novel. This book has the ability to shift your reality into someone else's shoes. You not only learn about the good experiences of the central character Cadence's life, but you learn about the bad ones as well. You go along with her while she solves a mystery that happened to her years ago and you feel every emotion she does along the way. You learn about her friendships, family life, and personal life through the story within the story about a princess. This book is one that I recommend to anyone and everyone, especially those who enjoy a mystery novel involving love and loss.
